space

in a compendium constellation

on a quiet and distant night

across the universe you spoke to me

in dull echoes and blinking lights

a whisper in the evening

for a day we could not wait

the wonder of exhaling

butterflies into space

oh what glee it would bring

to be together so we could sing

of all the lonely moons in orbit

around our wading wedding rings
