Frozen

there are crisps of ice in your strawberry heart—
lodged in by them, piercing;
or discharged by you, escaping;
either way, I do not know
except my insides have turned
into slopes of snow, I thought
the fact would come like ringing bells
I’m afraid,
the taste is much too sweet to tell.
