autumn

the autumn sun devours
every aching lit up hour
the moments that are
disappearing, the empty
dreams, picking flowers.
the autumn night it brings
a breeze, of ground up cold
crushed coffee beans
disappearing through frozen
lungs, living you, my only
dream.
the autumn in you,
my soul’s ripe season
your in betweens
your rhymes and reasons.
i’ve recognized your
everything, the chuckle,
the whispers, the midnight
shivers…the sounds..
the car pulling in
mimics the rhythms
of you breathing out,
at night,
loud and low
slow and steady.
the autumn sighs
a deaf lullaby
while the moon
in waning
to me still cries:
you left me be
to dream and die
heavy dreams be
with you tonight.
